CONFIDENTIAL documents in the wrong hands are a threat to our
Company:
The last thing we want is to have some unauthorized person (aka - a dumpster diver) obtaining our confidential materials from an unsecured garbage bin or dumpster. Company confidential document bins are distributed throughout the site to dispose and recycle company proprietary information. Please do not use the confidential document bins for non-sensitive documents. The cost to shred confidential waste is considerably higher than normal trash disposal. On the other hand, we want to encourage the use of the confidential document bins for anything that is sensitive, proprietary, or confidential. This would include, for example, old copies of internal phone directories, organization charts, etc. Since the locations are mapped to insure regular pick-up, please do not relocate or add confidential document bins without coordinating with Security. Additional bins can be provided to departments if they need to dispose and recycle other types of media (i.e., floppy disks, CDs, DAT, etc.). To request an additional bin or if you have a special request, please complete a Security Service Request Form. The bins are serviced every Thursday by Shred-It, a mobile paper shredding and recycling company. If a bin is overflowing or needs immediate servicing contact the Security Operations Center at extension 6922 and a Security Professional will be sent to service the bin.
