Tip of the month
archives
As the holidays draw closer, many
of us will be spending many hours shopping for that perfect gift. Here are a few
tips that will help make your holiday a safer one:
 |
Don't carry large sums of money on your person. Carry only the cash you will
need to purchase the article(s) you're going to buy. If you must carry a
large sum of money, divide the cash between your purse, pocket and wallet.
|
 |
Don't carry excess credit cards. Carry only those for the stores where you
intend to shop. In addition, make you that you record at home the account
numbers for each of the credit cards you own. |
 |
A tip for women:
Don't carry your purse by the handle, or place your arm through the strap
and let it dangle. Place one end of the purse in your palm of your hand, the
other in the bend of your elbow, or carry it upside down with the clasp
unlocked, but held closed in your hand. |
 |
Don't leave delivered packages out on your doorstep. Arrange to be home when
a delivery is anticipated. |
 |
Don't wait until you have put your packages down inside before you lock your
front door. Lock the door immediately upon entering your home.
|
 |
A
tip for men: Don't place your wallet in your trouser pocket; carry it in the
breast pocket of your jacket. |
 |
Watch out for confidence games, they always increase this time of year.
Bargains such as expensive perfumes or clothing at a fraction of the real
cost are notorious frauds during the Holiday Season.
|
 |
Don't leave packages visible in your car. Always look in your car before
getting in, and don't forget to keep it locked. |
