The text below is Alex's official statement that will appear in the November 5, 2002 Gubernatorial General Election -  Voter Information Pamphlet:

"My name is Alex Dourov, and my family has lived in Livermore since 1991. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice, with a minor in Sociology, from SJSU in 1980. I own a Web Design / Internet Services company, and my wife works for a computer company. Our two children attend local schools – one in elementary, the other in junior high. As my children grow, we enjoy the parks, facilities and programs that LARPD has to offer. I have been a volunteer Ambassador for the Livermore Chamber of Commerce for the past 2 ½ years. I understand the issues that are important to the community. People have told me they are interested in having restrooms in the local parks, expanding the skate park, having an Olympic sized swimming facility, additional soccer / softball fields and having LARPD focus more on our in-city parks. After-school activities, such as swimming, soccer, and skating are important to our children. It is essential that LARPD offer our youth activities that can help mold them into model citizens. I will work to strengthen our adult, senior citizen, and pre-school programs. Vote Alex Dourov on November 5th."
